Hello every one.

My jade plant has started to look all prunny this past week.
Just wondering if it's from to much or to little water.. or if maby it got to cold on other the nights? Any ideas?
And do you think it will recover?

My succulent who looked like that lost a branch (I think I pruned to much / bad aftercare).

The leaves shrivel when they are not getting enough water from the roots - HOWEVER, that could be from too much water rotting the roots; in fact, with Portulacaria that seems more likely than being too dry . . .
What's the soil like?
How fast did that occur?

yea the stem doesn't look real happy either.. i just brought all my jades outside a few days ago, dropped down to 40 degree night temps but they have been fine, try that?.. basic potting soil seems to work fine on jades.. regular old ground dirt seems to work fine... my nicer fatter ones i use grit and Napa.. works great. pure napa works fine. i have many jades.. all have differnt soils.. im actually thinking the MG cactus potting soil from home depot is pretty much fool proof

I'm thinking over watered my self...
What's best you think..

Just let it site in a warm place or take it our and.repot it... then I can check the root. Or will that do more damage?

It looks like a bunch of cuttings looked that I took a few year ag, just beforethey dropped over. The stems were completely hollowed out by bugs. I would check, although I might not be the best to ask.. My portocularia cuttings all died before rooting.

well, I think the cactus blend from home depot is pretty good, but depends on what else you got.. I have many potting mixing materials on hand the 1/2" rock mix you got there doesn't seem to be great, also, i wouldn't wire a jade.. that could be your problem.. maybe not though, clip and grow works well for me.

id probably start over on this one.. they arent real crazy rooters.. and can grow without any roots very easily.. hard to say if this one can though.

How many roots did it have going into that pot? What type of soil?

If you have well draining succulent soil in that little pot it seems you'd be hard pressed to over water. I have port cuttings in a similar pot with a young root system and they get this way when dry for too long.

It's not the best draining soil... and on top of.that I was watering more than I would at home ( I took it to work and it pritty dry here) . It mostly plane potting soil with lava rocks on the top for looks.

If no one thinks it will heal it's self I'll pop her out of there and put it in all new dry soil mixed with napa 8822

So I said f it and watered it a bunch right befor I left work... figured if it looked worse when I come back the next day I would replant it or toss it... when I got back it looked great.
I gess the soil had better drainage then I thought.
Thanks for all your responses every one.

5050 Napa / depot pine fines$5

That's a good dry mix for me...

Straight Napa seems to wet for succys.

This is one of those plants....
Like aloe....
Pineapple...

That thrive with this...

When you think they need water...
Don't water!

You like it when it's dry..... ?
