I've sent a email to B. Shimon, no response yet, so any suggestions where I might find a quality finished slab with approximate dimensions?

You should try Etsy, eBay I found a few vendors selling redwood rounds up to three feet across for $200 or so

HoffTreeServices on Etsy will do custom rounds for instance
