native red maple . I cut this one back last summer and the year before.. finally got to repot it clump .. great base on the maple clump it’s almost a pancake

I repotted this 2 years ago form nursery stock European hornbeam into a wooded box .. put into an oval today ..


Tagged a little azalea that was repotted into a Hattori pot

Here is a pitch pine that I did initial wiring on today and last weekend. There is still some work to do once fall comes around , and it will be repotted in 2 years once it recovers more and develops. The angle is tough to see but it’s up and back . That is the front .. and the apex is kinda where I took the picture but again it’s more like eye level to the box. It’s going on a slab eventually.

Started work on this Hinoki today , will be working on rest of tree wiring tomorrow

Finished this Hinoki minus some thinning out , next I’m working on a big Scots pine clump . Updates from that to follow. Really good group with other apprentices, we have a great culture at Kifu Bonsai. Come visit!

It is staying that tall and if it was mine or the studios tree we would but it’s a clients tree.

Thanks but that is a clients tree I’m working on
