Purple bougainvillea

Was getting shaggy and looks like its getting ready to flower again so I trimmed it up and removed the wire.

Started to grow nice then the weather changed. Also needs re potted but will wait till spring. Looks to be low on iron also? Have not done any trimming since it started to grow.

Probably needs magnesium. It's a common problem for bogies. Use Epsom salt.

For some reason this one is the only boogie that I have to give extra iron /epsom salt too. Needs it about every couple of months or so. Looks like its just starting to need it again.

I use to measure and now I just add a little into the watering can and mix it up. Probably about 2 tablespoons of salt and 1 of iron to about 2 or 3 quarts of water. I will also do this every now and then for all the trees diluted down more. I water real well then water again with the mix. Usually within a week the leaves get darker green. If the leaves are still light in color after 3 or 4 weeks I hit it again.

Mine bloom off and on all year. Even in the winter in the greenhouse.

I have a few purple ones, but yours is beautiful. Jealous.

Needs to be trimmed. Just a couple more weeks and its out of the greenhouse.
