I started with this stump purchased in 2005. I have worked it and thread grafted it and potted it and then put it back into a grow container.

Today I wired a few more branches, pruned a little, shortened some and now I think next spring it will be time to put it back into a show pot. I have just the one for it. A pot from Japan by Yoshimura.

This photo in 2007. I was still missing some branching around the middle.

Here we are two years later in the gro container. This is a close up on the pot for next year. This pot is carved from a block of clay like Ruyen.

Potters name is Susumu Kataoka.

Tree is 7 inches tall and trunk is 3 inches across.

That is a great tree and a perfect pot choice. It will be a great image when they are brought together.

What amazes me the most of some trees posted is their actual size, not in reference to a scaling object but when seen against a human. Well done Al.

nice tree, I also like the tree pot combo, nice work. My only other comment would be that it looks like it could go into a nice pot ,like the one you have pictured, now.

You don't watch Bill O'Reilly do you, commie, or listen to Rush.

I have listened to Rush since 1988, before his hearing loss, before oxy-contin, before femi-nazi's and before Jaguar.

Lately, I've detected a little more anxiety and frustration in his voice about the direction we're heading... sounds like me.

As far as my choice of RUSH goes, I prefer the rock band rather than the Malignant Narcissist himself!:p;)

PS Big fan of theirs since their switch to drummer Neal Peart! He does some great jazz/swing stuff too.

BTW, I really like your tree Al. I have a couple of (stumps) that ae heading in that direction. I am just glad to be in an area that I can now grow them in.

His lyrics took the band in a whole new direction. Without him, they just wouldn't be the same I'm afraid.
