The Fourth Dimension

I am reminded of the most recent issue of Bonsai Focus and Kimura's technique of reducing roots with a chainsaw. While he did accomplish his goal, the tree looked like a telephone pole exiting the ground. Excellent technique, but low on the artistry factor.

but.....what will time accomplish in the big picture.... we will never know.

New for Xmas...my new book: Big Root- Little Blossoms

That's kind of odd considering the artist involved?

The canopy of the tree is fantastic. The tree now in a pot looks terrible due to the tree having no flare, no nebari and showing such a disconnect from the fantastic canopy with dead areas, shari uro and jins and this juvinile trunk exiting the ground showing no age what so ever.

Just using this as a comparison to the topic of the thread,TIME, and a comment about technician versus artistry and how an artist must also be a great technician. This is a great example. If you havn't seen the tree in the magazine then it would be hard to visualize what I am talking about.
