Wired out a tan juniper. Nothing special really, just a nursery juniper bought on the cheap that I was not inspired about. But after some wire and time, I like it! 1st pic is after initial purchase last June and cleaning out a bit. Next pics are this morning after styling last night.

not sure on the front I prefer. what do you think?
I like that second front (meaning the third pic) but agree with reducing the jin little at a time till you find the right look. Wiring work looks really nice!!!

I just repotted a nursery stock Dwarf Crape Myrtle, my Prunus mume is just starting to show some bud swelling but everything else is still dormant. I sowed about 100 seeds each of Red Pine and Japanese Black Pine.

Also have to sow seeds from:
Carpinus betula 'Pendula'
Larix amabilis
Sequoia sempervirens (from a tree succesfully growing in z7)

And in a few more months I want to start some tropical stuff outside for bringing indoors:
5 different species of Adansonia
A handful of weird perennials

Lots of stuff planned. I'm still working but if we get shut down I'll have plenty of time to at least get them started.

I dug a roadside nandina today. How it got there, I haven't a clue. Not really bonsai material. Probably will just plant it in the yard eventually.

Did an air layer on a really leggy honey locust.

Pruned the little knobs, stubs and dead branches from over 30 trees.

Massaged all the soft shoots down to a more horizontal attitude. I prefer to at least get them started in the right direction........less wiring later on.

Fertilized 50 trees with double strength Miracle Gro. 80 degree temps from now on and shoots are shooting!

This week I dug up, repotted and wired this Shohin barberry. I decided on a slightly different front than I potted at. I will change the pot and the planting angle next season. It wasn’t worth repotting for, its in a bigger pot to grow more anyway!

And PS if Marc Noelanders is out there, thank you for calling me out on my bad wiring around a year ago. I have worked a lot on it this year, and this tree shows my progress.

Im not sure if it blossoms. I got it last summer at the nursery. We'll see..

Sorry. Camping spot is top secret. 😉
I'm not talking about the actual spot, just what area. We do a lot of backpacking in Co. and have some land around Westcliffe...
