Ok here is a tree I own. 3 years after collection. Next two years I would like elongated growth and to repot.

Question, When placing your display post in the ground, are you securing it with gravel, sand, rocks, or some other method? I noticed the display post in the photos.

Thank you.

@abqjoe that maple in the first photo. Love the movement in that trunk! Very feminine looking tree.

This Satsuki came from Don...last year's blooms. It's not put on its show for me for this year yet.

On my bucket list an azalea satsuki with white and pink flowers.

Went on yamadori today (bad timing but they were being removed.

Satsuki azaleas are addicting...I've two and one wouldn't have to twist my arm to hard to add another one that caught my eye. Hope you get that bucket list checked along the way and you get the trees you desire. I've not many on my list...a cool trunk with a URO...and a literati. Those be it...was wanting a clump then added the maple not long ago. Not here yet...but, it's either a clump/grove but it checks that box for me. Good luck with your collected piece. Keep us updated.

Visited my Rocky Mountain Juniper. Collected by Sam Miller.

@wireme is the plastic bag a branch you plan to eliminate?

I'm ready for spring!View attachment 137312

Yeah, last summer I kind of half wired it and moved a few bits roughly into position. Then I bagged the excess to visually cover it. Just trying to figure out if the design I had in mind was going to work out alright. I think it'll be ok, probably make some more serious moves this season.
This one below I collected 2014 or 2015. image.jpg

Did you ever get this question answered after jumping through all the hoops?

No, never answered, but I guess the hoops & show are important.

I asked the folks at the local bonsai meet up and they provided me with direction.

Thank you for asking.

That's an absolutely beautiful planting. It has a real feel of airiness and light to it. The vertical bars on the stand complement it perfectly too, and the pot is excellent. A very natural look, to my eye. I really like it overall.

Suppose I'd better add a tree, so at the opposite end of the spectrum, here's a stumpy little shohin crab apple in (re)development.
