Bag it!Awesome, if it’s actually a tree species!
Still parched-looking from a long time without rain (‘til yesterday) but there are green flower buds coming in...
Hopefully it’s not too offended at the uprooting. Seems content to have shade & moisture, for now.
Um, literally, like pop a plastic bag over it? Or just scoop up it & any tinier brethren?Bag it!![]()
Sure looks like the leaves of Winged Elm, BUT these guys make fat little buds & yellow flowers, and so far, no pics match — will take pictures of next one I see blooming (hopefully this one!) and will continue trying to ID.small leaved elm of some sort
Literally.. pop a plastic bag over it... it’s a method that had saved a few “high summer rescue” collections.. and Now... it it’s got leaves/foliage, and I disturb the Roots... it gets a bag (over plant AND pot )and “bright shade” for 5-10 days... airing out the “Chamber” every 18-24 hrs.Um, literally, like pop a plastic bag over it? Guess that was a good call — they’re in the Hibiscus family, too.Are those Mallow leaves!?!?
Gives us a kindred feeling of discovery, even if we’re not way out in wild places — I’ve always noticed these plants, but never in this way before. It will be fun to see what I can do — they’re all over, all sizes, and I’ve really wanted a tiny forest — a FREE forest is a really fun prospect!Native is what's up.
Excellent! Did it a little while ago — seemed like a good idea, and a gallon freezer bag fits right around the container. Have it on a bench well inside my carport, which is painted white inside. Good to know about airing-out, will do!Literally.. pop a plastic bag over it... it’s a method that had saved a few “high summer rescue” collections.. and Now... it it’s got leaves/foliage, and I disturb the Roots... it gets a bag (over plant AND pot )and “bright shade” for 5-10 days... airing out the “Chamber” every 18-24 hrs.

AHA!
It’s Common Wireweed, Sida acuta, a Florida native! Left uncut, it will grow into a woody shrub 3-4’ high!
AND it’s hard as nails to kill...which I imagine is a GIANT bonus for a mame in the hands of a noob.
(taps fingertips together) Excellent, excellent...I just did a little “mud temple”.. for some “carving practice”.. made me think of you.
