Ulmus Pumila Carnivorous

The tree looks amazing, thanks for the pictures

This tree is incredible, and the "arms" being wired to have hands as well is the cherry on top. Did you find/make a new pot for this yet? I think a Thor Holvila pot with the skull feet would be perfectly on brand, not too on the nose at all. I hope you'll get the chance to put it in a show at some point, I'd love to see it in a full display setting. Not sure what the accent would be but preferably something poisonous 💀 like deadly nightshade, or Datura, or a little carnivorous plant :P

Thank you, I look forward to the day I get it into a pot that feels right. Next year, I need to do a lot of wiring and searching for a pot; I may just make a custom pot for it. I do plan to eventually put it in a show. I love the idea of a carnivorous plant accent!

I'm thinking drip style glazed pot. With neutral colored base (brown / black -ish) and red/oxblood glaze dripping from the edge, resembling blood.
Something like this but with above color scheme:

Because the tree is already very gimmicky I wouldn't go too crazy with the pot.

Or if you do want to go all out gimmicky you can maybe make a pot in the shape of a witches cauldron.
Or something that resembles a cut in half pumpkin.

Really love what you’ve done with the upper branching. The old design looked a bit like pom-poms, and it was a bold step but necessary step to rebuild it.

Cool, you noticed! I did change the top branches quite a bit. I totally agree with the Pom poms, I like this look much better. I plan on cutting them back some more and wiring the new growth next year.
I was curious if anyone would see the change.
