Just wanted some cut paste, not sure how the lavender star and Vietnamese blue bell ended up in my cart 🤷‍♂️

I got the same two species from Wigerts. The star flower seems to be really thirsty, and I love the thorns on the VBB.

That's funny, Wigert's did the same thing to me. I also got a Lavender star flower and a Vietnamese blue bell and I don't remember ordering anything.;)

3 dollar clearance ficus benjamina from work. Potted up from the grower like a triple trunk. I'm pretty sure it's three cuttings clumped together. Planning fusion grafting then into one. I'm not sure if wire would do the trick like I've done with microcarpa cuttings or if I should use some sort of tape or plastic.

I've not tried the clump fusion thing on any of my benjaminas yet, but I might soon.
They really are a fun tree. Nothing that'd win at the show, but the perfect casual hobbyist tree.

I have seen some in the garden center grown in the clump style like this, the shallow roots fuse and the trunks fuse as they thicken from the roots up. I almost bought one that had 6 trunks and an awesome fused base, but…. I refuse to pay for a benjamina…. Why pay when I can get all the cuttings I want from a buddy’s 35 year old benjamina, which I get to go give a trim tomorrow 😁. I definitely have plans for starting a clump and seeing if I can get some fusing roots going on.
