I guess I assumed the blade was like a kitchen blade. I had no idea until I opened the box...that the blade itself is that thick!A long time coming...ordered this January 2020. I knew they get an order ready then place it. I was fine with the wait time. Then...covid hit. End of the year their order was filled...minus a few things. This tool was one of them. I was offered two options...a refund, or wait for the tool and they would try and see about getting me one. As they addressed the missing items.
Got a call the other day he was holding it in his hand. Confirmation it shipped in my email. Super stoked!!!
Search Toriki in the search engine. You will see many love what it brings to air layers. Had a friend willing to mail me his to use, then return. But if it was so good...I wanted my own.

I also bought the book last year. As many forums spoke of the indepth instruction of proper use of the tool and step by step instructions with photos. So I am prepared to tackle my first aid layer...super stoked!!!

I believe @River's Edge / Frank made something like this tool even. For his own use...and liked what the concept brought to the table for natural looking roots.
Just ordered 31310 yen worth of stuff from kaneshin medium knob cutters, long handled scissors, small saw, straight tweezers and medium root cutter. I'm going to slowly replace my tools for kaneshin tools over the next year or two as I have saved a small fortune due to everything being closed due to covid-19 ( every cloud has a silver lining )
I have used other people's kaneshin tools and they were very good cutters and felt nice in the hand. Most of my other tools are ryuga and there OK, they have lasted years but I probably should have brought high quality tools immediately and just spent once. We will see how the tool I order preform but from my limited experience and the recommendations from friends I think I will like them.I've seen the kaneshin stuff before. Looks good but is it really worth the price? I'm on a budget.
There is a notable difference in quality. Whether it is worth the money will have to be answered by you. If you are on a budget and you have tools that do the job for you, the difference might not be worth it. If you have money to spend, or you do not have any tools, maybe not.I've seen the kaneshin stuff before. Looks good but is it really worth the price? I'm on a budget.
I'm both so sorry and happy for you man.@Hoyonokuma is to blame for this one. I decided.. no more trees. I even put the european bonsai auctions out of my mind. And someone notifies me of this interesting project.
A wild pear.
I have never before seen a wild pear come for sale. Let alone for a price that you could not get deshojo cuttings for.
Excited!
