What did you buy at the Convention?

Hey Al, I do have one question in post #31, first picture, who's area is that, I like that style of display tables, thanks.

keep it green,
Harry

Harry,

Looks like David and June Nguy's stand to me. You really need to get to Chikugo En and Jim Gremels place if you need to make your wallet a little lighter.

Al,

Where were you, was looking for you Sat. morn/aft.

Oh well maybe I'll see you at Shohin, can you send me the registration info.

Oh, I bought a couple of sweet little mame pots

I bought a Sara Raynor pot (I agree-those pots were amazing. I kept coming back and touching them...) and a Dick Ryerson pot. I kept drooling over all the Shimp's around, but couldn't quite bring myself to buy one. I also ended up winning some books and some wire brushes in the raffle. That was nice.

I was there three days....I can't believe we didn't run into each other. Sat. I laid low too. just lounged around the convention shooting pics.

Was it the one on the far right of the shelf? I kept going back and looking at that one. The entire collection of Sara Raynor pots were fantastic.

On Al's post (#31), the last picture shows young Zack from Mendocino bonsai. Right in front of him you can see some round cascade pots, the one I've bought was a green one, with small buttons around the top rim. You can't see it on the picture since it was taken after I've bought the pot.
(I am just too lazy to take a picture right now, sorry about that).

Wow, you guys have a lot of really nice stock for sale out there...wish we had similar at the spring show at the National Arboretum.

You might have that type of vendor turn out if the National Arb didn't take a percentage of every sale made. Couple that with an outdoor venue that at times can best be described as barbaric. Really puts a damper on vendor turn out.

Hi Tom - I remember Dale mentioning this on BT a year or two ago. Shame that it doesn't work out to a better situation.

mcpesq817, look for the MABS Spring Festival in April, demos, lectures, raffles, exhibit, auctions, and Vendors. Dale is a regular, Tom has been there, maybe again as well. We have a good event every spring, it's not too far from you, the reg fees are fairly low, and the hotel is about $78, hope to see you(all) there.
I'll put a post in the events section soon.

Thanks Bill - I'll have to check it out. Where is it held? Is that the show up in upstate NY?

Its my plan Bill .... have yet to see the new venue. I have 7200 bags of red and black lava , and a slew of new pots from some up and coming new potters. Hopefully some MABSers will help lighten my load! Hear the new venue is really nice and am itching to see some old friends as well.

Attila,
That is a nice looking pot. Classy

Funny you switched images on that last post. I really like the first pot in the picture you removed. I saw that one. I even ran my finger across the rim detail. Very nice. Very fine pot.

So what are you going to put in it/ them?

Sorry, I changed the picture, because mine is very similar to this one. Only the upper lip has nailheads as well, and it is a dirty-green. So, look again at my previous post. I got the picture from Sarah's website.

I am going to put a shohin cascade bougainvillea in it.

I dont think there is a Sara Raynor pot I don't like. You made a wonderful choice.

Yes it is , Kerhonkson to be precise.

Tom hope to see you there, prolly even take a bit of that lava too, bring a bag of that New Zeland spagnum with you, and I will take at least one of each. Probably more, I have been adding lava to the mix and i am liking it.
