Peeled this white spruce out of the plastic pot like a banana and repotted it. This has the distinction of currently being my ugliest tree. The buds are still really small compared to my other spruce so I didn't do the hard work on the heart of the roots that I wanted to.

Repotted my Dutch Elm and two Trident maples. I just put them back into their trainging pots. Here are some pics of the shohin trident maple.

Made a grow bed for japanese maples.


Sadly, my newly ordered japanese maples are in very bad condition I hope they survive.

Slip potted 5 little azaleas and one maple from cuttings into bigger pots and watered the deciduous and azaleas that are still in the coldframe waiting for frost free risk days to come out. Sorry no pics of them, was too tired.

Busy day.

Also uncovered my boat and took the shrink wrap to the dump. Made coleslaw and layered some beans and onions onto to crock pot for dinner tomorrow. Good news is I'll have less dinner prep for tomorrow.

Tomorrow I'll feed the pines and junipers and get the azalea water system up and running

After a hot summer in the shade I feel the Privet is suffering a little so I'm gonna move into more light as we go into Winter here in NZ.
Moss has settled, almost full cover.
Added little more soil and did some weeding.

Today I added some more sprayers to my irrigation system. The distribution had been spotty, especially in windy conditions. I lifted them up a bit so I could point them down more towards the pots.
I also unclogged the sink, but I’ll spare you the pictures of that.

I’m finally working on improving a Murasaki Kiyohime. Here’s where it begins after letting it sit. I believe it got repotted out of clay-ey nursery soil last spring.

Yesterday I also set my bench back up on the new patio. Added another raised bed to the backyard and did the bonsai shuffle out onto the benches for the day and back into the shed for the evening. Pondering how to hide the electrical boxes and phone boxes since they're such a mess.

easter festivities don't start until after noon today so i took the cutters to a cotoneaster that's been sitting in a nursery pot since last summer

Purchased this large nana procumbens. Will need some work to revitalize the back but overall nice tree. Goal for the tree is to exhibit it then maybe sell down the road for my next project.

Also today I was aware that in a week, this calliandra will be blooming, and I'm excited to make a beauty shot of it then..., so I added a fence and a door to the compositiion



I must say that my garden is giving me so much joy these days.....

Looking a lot better than half a year ago! Did you figure out what it was? Has the wet spring made the difference?
