Spent the day cleaning up and digging my trees out of storage from winter. Just back from Florida so a little late maybe, a couple casualties I think.

Drained the swamp again, put the tops back on the benches and enjoyed the sunshine

Technically what I did yesterday but I was busy with celebrating my birthday a day early, sue me!

I also made it down to the tree sale at Wiscobonsai, lots of great values to be had. My choices were a bit limited by not borrowing a truck for transit so I kept my choices on the smaller end of things. I'd been wanting a Hop Hornbeam so I couldn't resist grabbing this tiny guy at a great price.

Additionally an apple clump that should make for an interesting project in the long run. I think the first order of business is using a wedge or guy wire to fan out the trunks a bit. Depending on the fruits i may look into getting some scion material to graft in the pursuit of some small apples.

It was a good event but I didn't realize it was going to be so busy. Kevin does know how to get the word out!

I am the small woman with short blonde hair and nerd glasses. I think I ended up doing more talking and helping others discuss trees than actually shopping for myself.

Here is my serviceberry project that i bought from the sale. Talked the price down a bit because of the dieback. I don't really want to keep it in this pot but it's already leafed out. Might try to find something to slip pot it into.
