Those little guys seem to be getting a mineral they need, or maybe just enjoy ramifying the roots?

Spent over four hours repotting two dwarf schefflera into one pot in an attempt to create a bayan style tree one day, or a cool house plant. :)

First one

If it lives I'll start working on the branches. Might be cool in ten years. 🤷‍♂️ Aerial roots should thicken up this summer

Spent some time checking in on various plants.

1st Oak sprouted from seed, some kind of live oak I think

2nd some more of same oak species with a Japanese White Pine seedling, seems to be doing OK, not great1000005395.jpg
3rd a couple japanese black pine seedling and a Japanese white pinebseedling that's dying1000005393.jpg
Another oak species sprouted from seed, possibly valley oak but not sure- sprout is just above the seed and was only moved from germinating container to planter today.1000005392.jpg
Japanese maple that's been put through the ringer by our local pests, must taste good...

Set a few air layers. Three on a new azalea raft I acquired at the club auction which I plan to rebuild the trunks on, and another on a Thuja occidentalis ‘Primo’.

Trying out these little air layer balls. They were super easy to work with, let’s see if I like the results.

I have the black version and I ended up drilling some holes in them because they stayed too wet. It seemed to help a lot. Monitor your moss to see if you have the same issue.

@pandacular I removed this shishigashira last week. I like them because they are super simple to use. The roots curve around the edges and seems to help make them lay flat when potting. Rather than a pot with edges or an uneven bag. I do like your idea @shohin_branches about drilling small holes. I’m going to give it a try.

Defoliated my oddball trident and slip potted it into a pot that I pulled my Gekko from. It's too big right now for the trident, but I didn't repot this spring, and it needed some root space. It may look nice in this pot if I allow it to grow into a structurally larger tree, which I've been thinking about. (the gekko went into a very nice unglazed just to give it some extra space)

(yesterday) went to the beach with the kids, brought home a rock.

Looked for creatures in the tide pools, got some crabs, hermit crabs, an eel (really a fish, but I can't remember what type, and it looks like an eel), and a couple baby lobsters.

I did this Friday, actually. As often happens, one of my clubs explicitly asked me to put something "unusual" into their show, so after making a "pot" out of slate tiles to resemble an old Irish stone house ruin, I put this together.

Like the tree thread, a pic required w/each post. Just for fun.
I thought it would be a fun thread for everyone to post what the did today regarding their Bonsai collection, along the lines of the tree thread where a pic is required or it didn't happen w/your post. Before and after even better but not required.
Show us what you did with your bonsai today.
I gave my Tamarack/larch forest its anual hair cut. Some of the shoots were over 6" long. Took me close to an hour. It has these strange little cones with a shoot growing out.
