I'm totally in agreement about loathing Facebook.
However, I don't get the logic behind only consuming news obtained by word-of-mouth. Dude, if you only get your news via word-of-mouth, guess where you're actually getting a lot of your news from? Facebook! Because people share by word of mouth the same garbage that they read & shared on their Facebook wall without any fact-checking whatsoever. To be well informed, you really have to consume news directly from news organizations. Otherwise, you're just playing the telephone game and receiving a view of the world distorted by the biases, misunderstandings, and faulty memory recall of everyone that the story passed through on its way to you. At a minimum, read your local newspaper to be informed on what's happening in your town. Better yet, regularly read at least 3 news sources with different viewpoints in order to be able to separate what's fact from what's speculation/bias attributable to the authors and/or their editor.
Ok, now I can get down from my "civic duty to be a well-informed citizen" soapbox.
Below is some on-topic content regarding where to obtain bonsai pots:
- As far as sources on the Internet go, I've bought ceramic pots from Bonsai Outlet, Dallas Bonsai, and Etsy (the shop on Etsy that I've purchased from is called Potfriendsworld). I've also bought plastic training pots on Amazon.
- Outside of the Internet, I've bought pots at regional bonsai shows, The Flower Market (Kurt Smith's store), local bonsai club swap meets, a local pet store that sells a few cheap Chinese bonsai pots, and even an antique mall that happened to have a couple of pots on hand. I've also taken a shallow container from a big box store that was sold for cacti/succulents and modified it to add drainage holes by drilling with a diamond hole saw bit.
