Who likes big trees? They are definitely not easy to collect.

The biggest tree I’ve collected was hauled out with the help of @Josh88 and a lot of huffing, puffing, and pauses to catch our breaths.

I lashed together three logs to make a carrying sled. Without that it wouldn’t have been possible.

The Mountain Hemlock has recovered quite well. I was able to get a circular carpet of roots with a 5' diameter and a depth of 4–6".

Jealous! I got my permit to go collect in the national forest, but all cedars are off limits :(

NICE! Harkens back to the white cedars being collected in the 90's by folks like Reiner Goebel. This species doesn't get the love its should. Old big ones like this make terrific bonsai.

This one is in the National Arb. Gift from the Toronto Bonsai club. I think it belonged to Reiner. It's a little smaller than yours.
