Winter IS coming, start preparing

Haha. It's been right around zero the last couple nights.
Climbing up into the twenties during the day.
About right.

Chris I have a new unused one you can have

Judy, they are useless if you cannot use your legs - they are designed in such a manner you have to use your legs as they keep your upper body straight.

My problems are in my upper back/neck. I've had a couple of flare-ups of nerve root compression at the c6-c7 level in the past, the most severe had me stuck in a chair (the only comfortable position) for about a month. Knock on wood, it's been almost 10 years now since a flare-up. I do strengthening exercises every day, does it help...maybe? Or maybe I've been lucky. Lower back gets sore but never any real knock-you-out problems, at least not yet.

The back braces are designed more for the lower back, aren't they?

@JudyB , most of my trees are reasonable in size (I'm guessing your large ones are larger/heavier than any I have) but there are a lot of them to move...

The type I have keeps your back, and shoulders straight, which keeps your neck upright too forcing you to lift proper.

I thought when the music stopped you were suppose to grab a chair?

Went down to 26 here last night. Went up to 38 today but the wind chills are brrrrrrrrr.

I was planning to wait two more weeks but I (mostly) moved mine to their planned winter abodes. Crap myrtle and dystilium went down into my window wells and the rest into the walkway between the house and garage. Next step is to bury the latter and cover the former with leaves.

How often are you guys watering?
When they need it! Once they freeze if you get snow, then snow melt will probably take care of it. Until then keep checking to see if they're getting dry. I keep skewers in mine so it's easy to check.

Just dropped my zone sensitive trees at their winter daycare for the first time! I have kept them in a cold room in the past, but the family needs a gym... At least my helpers will be good and strong come collecting season!;)

19F at the Reading Airport, 11F for a low on my thermometer in the middle of the yard, so yeah, it froze HARD. Everything looked fine though, glad I brought my tridents in.

Long range models showing more cold for the east for the rest of November.

All my trees froze two nights ago....
Hope they're OK....crape myrtle looked like it was not happy.....:(
I put them in the garage yesterday, gonna check on them in a few minutes here...
Finger's crossed.

I assume you mean any remaining leaves got toasted, which is fine of course. But I don’t let my crapes experience anything more than a light frost. I’ve never tried leaving them out in colder, but IME they are not reliably winter hardy here in the ground, so I assume them to be less so in a pot. They overwinter in my “root cellar” with my maples.

I hear ya brother, happens to us who start our days at 4am! So much running around for work, and then you realize its f**king freezing outside. I hope all recover!

I found that with the hot indian summer we had, trees stayed green right to the day it was freezing temps.

My Crape never dropped its leaves or even lost their color so yeah, got crispy, too. I've gotten conflicting information on the indica myrtles but it seems they can handle down to 0F so I'm goign to try the window well since it is supposed to be a mild winter. I do have a root cellar but I don't trust it. The last time I put BR trees in there they got covered in mold but that may have been because they were wet when put down. I need to test.
