I’ve seem Mantis everywhere all my life and they have all been green. I’ve never seen a black one. That’s awesome!

I misspelled it - it's mantispid. They are the size of a lacewing. I don't see them too often. Lavewings are much more common.

Really hope you'll be able to get a shot during and/or immediately afterward. I'm at the western edge of their (typical) migration pattern. I've been seeing a lot more than usual this year.

Whitefringed weevil, Naupactus leucoloma on Vitex agnus-castus. I'll call this a Wally encounter.
