Had to put my newly collected trees in the back of my van overnight and probably leave them there til tuesday due to some obscure cold weather this weekend. It's snowing now and is supposed to continue for the next 24 hours. Can't wait til it's gone and spring can commence as normal

Waiting with you. We had a very pleasant week after the beast from the east had stopped influencing us. Repotted few japanese pines and now they need protection again. It's coming back, one more week with nights below zero. And I was planning to pick up my wintering trees from garden beds next weekend, nah I'll see. I hope that's the last splash of winter.

Temperatures in the upper 40s with full sun and a light breeze has felt great today. It really does not need to be 80 F for me to think "spring" and enjoy being outside. I would not mind if summer temperatures stayed between 45 F - 75 F.

The forsythia are starting to come out, but I would give it another week or two and buds on the cherry tree in the front are swelling. Some of the weedy grasses and small wildflowers have started to grow but I noticed that starting more than a month ago. Bulbs are one to three inches out of the ground. Most everything else is still in winter mode.

70 degrees at 8PM tonight and my elms are pishing buds and a few leaves. A few little green buds on my bald cypress, and they’re swelling on my hawthorns, plus I just received a dozen bald cypress seedlings today. Of course it will be back in the 20’s a couple nights next week so I’m practicing my two step.

Got my trees from Bill V.
A bit earlier then expected,so I potted them up and wired some shape in a few and put them under my home for now.
Looks like next Sunday the 50’s move in and can hook up the rain barrels just in time for rain harvesting:p:):)
