Recently people got a sneak peek at Michael's new book via Facebook, Instagram among other sites. Posting the cover of it here now which I illustrated along with the actual title "BONSAI HERESY". The subtitles were then added in by his book designer Leah Eads. It is now all finished along with 13 illustrations inside. We may be creating signed posters and postcards for sale which Michael may be taking some with him on his US book tour next year. That part still under discussion.

Thank you Martin! I did design it. However, this one was Michael's idea. He really wanted a lit match for the cover. Interestingly all other images in the book embrace the ridiculous with a sense of humor. This is probably the only image that does not follow that pattern.

I am grateful to have the chance to use my past skills for something related to bonsai. Never thought I'd illustrate a bonsai book. Much less a Michael Hagedorn!

Just received my copy of Bonsai Heresy yesterday signed by Michael. I am impressed with the overall printed quality. The book, although small, feels quite substantial. Presales are are going really well through Stone Lantern. I am in current talks with Micheal to make posters and other related merchandise featuring some of the illustrations in the book.
