Ability to delete a post

Well, I guess I prefer to fix my own mistakes and not get you involved... call me old fashioned. With that in mind, I'm unlikely to ever ask you to delete any of my posts, as they're typically just misplaced or potentially uninformed in that I'm rushed and missed something earlier in the thread, so they just will serve to make me look like an idiot... but most people here know that I am already. Carry on.

Which honestly isn't long enough... It truly sucks that the actions of a few- who likely add NOTHING to the discussions here- dictate how the entire site is run now.

Growing well... I'm having to cut back extensions every 10-14 days. The moss needs to be redone, though.

One might think that the forum software might have some additional "features" that we don't know about...such as, adjustable settings for different users? So for instance, the delete function could be enabled generally (and longer edit times), but for specific users the ability to delete could be turned off. So, you abuse it, you lose it. Is that an option @Bonsai Nut ?

@Dav4 thanks for this thread. I spent twenty minutes trying to delete my duplicate Yew post this morning feeling stupid that I couldn't figure it out. Now I only feel half stupid for making a duplicate post that is somehow different then the original and not know how I did it.

The "delete" option has been gone for over two months. We've had several different discussions about this topic.

It is gone because people were abusing the site by posting controversial content (personal attacks for example) and then going back and deleting the content within the 60 minute window.

Until today I was against walls to exclude people, but I will never get my twenty minutes back and now that is has effected me personally, I am all for a wall. Any wall.

I agree, I dislike that I cant go back and edit a post after 20 minutes. Sometimes Im in a hurry but Im trying to answer someone and my phone decides to take it upon itself to spell things for me. Usually what is spells is wrong and stupid. I dont see it until later and I cant change it. Drives me nuts sometimes.

I understand BNut's philosophy on it but honestly, a 20 minute limit hasnt stopped anyone from posting stupid stuff in the past. I doubt the lack of a delete button will stop them in the future, but who knows, it might.

It's sitting in another pot to let the roots run... I prune them back every month or so
