Bonsai Supply Issues! Do it Now

I have no idea what they are saying, but as product of the 90’s era hip hop I can say that is dope. I listen to a lot of groups who rap and sing in different languages and it all vibes. Music knows no bounds. I played in a band for years also that played live hip hop/funk/reggae

It's a post apocalyptic song about the world that went to shits, now they dance in the empty squares and sing from atomic bunkers "hooray, the world is going under".
The second vocalist has this raw sound that I can't mimic but would love to be able to.
Bonus points for anyone who knows the name of the plingy instrument. I've been trying to find out for months..
Regardless, it’s a great groove and jam. It’s clear the lyricism and flow is tight. Love live hip hop groups.

I think I do. The one with the red balls and the fade (or is it wah without the other wah?) effect.
If it’s the flexing bell tone, it’s called a flex a tone.

I played percussion in the band I was in. I’ve still got a silly amount of percussive instruments.

Looks like a vibraslap combined with a theremin!

Those balls control the "width" of the ring..
We had one of those in High School band.
I've HEARD that sound in other songs..

The name.. eludes me.

Well damn! there it is!

😂

(Gotta start reading thoroughly before I respond, I was distracted by all the confetti!)

If the crap does hit the fan and let’s say something goes wrong with importing goods, what will people who swear by akadama use. I bought some recently to try this spring, but seriously would you have to start over looking for new soil.

I guess the good ol 8822 and turface will be in short supply 😬

100% pumice would be my backup plan...

Sounds like a solid plan, I have been stocking up on pumice for awhile now so I think I should be good. My mix now isn’t very common, at least I don’t think so

🥵🥵🥵
Ok, finally all caught up.

So, what I'm hearing is;
I need to buy an old fishing vessel, retrofit it for early 20th century style cargo carrying, and get into old-school charter shipping along with my trucker friend
Put together a map of all the old mines and quarries in the area, and build a small kiln for processing clay and other soil materials in my backyard

We spend all year processing soil components, then over the winter we truck it to a small time fishing port on west coast Indian reservation where we load it onto the boat and take to @River's Edge, where, being the only well stocked supplier in North America, he can afford to pay us quite handsomely.
Retire in 3 years to a modest mountain estate to raise sheep and cool trees in pots.

I like this plan.

Actually supply and demand being the key factor, already being well supplied will drive the price down. Soil products are expected to be packaged to certain standards and tax applied/ collected at the border! So I get the suggestion to use small boats, unfortunately it is no secret that others use that mode of transport.
Not a new idea for sure. Do you have a source for Japanese bonsai pots? Those are in short supply. We have pumice mines and lava mines locally this side of the border.

PS: I am pretty sure the Coastal highways are under continual surveillance for small boats moving up and down the cost so you can expect visitors aboard. With commercial marine requiring AIS the task of tracking is fairly simple. Check out the app Marine Traffic to see how effective this is today!
I believe this is the result of others having thought of this distribution method for other more high value products.
Historically it has been booze, cigarettes and other life style vices. Do Bonsai pots qualify as a lifestyle vice?

If you get the pot's to the coast, I can pick them up.

It’s a damn shame when we have to turn into pot smugglers to get our pot fix…. Tisk tisk tisk 🤦‍♂️

I was in the US Coast Guard, and my first station was at La Push, Washington.
How do you think I know this stuff? 😉
