I picked up some 1/4"x1/4" metal screening and two pine panks for some quick sifting frames. One screen gets the 1/4"x1/4"mesh, the other screen gets two layers of mesh, offset, so the final size is 1/8"x1/8". I wove an "x" through the two screens to keep them pressed together.

Not perfect but cheap and took less than 20 mins to put together.

Let me know how the two 1/4 put together works? I've been holding off until I find 1/8".
Have you'd seen the 'shaker' you could build that fits over a wheelbarrow? Simple and looks like it would work. I see if I can find link and post it up.

Ha... Not what I was looking for but has potential:

I tried them out yesterday and both worked well. The double layered screen didn't get clogged like I thought it might.
