I am confused by this. Are we discussing Orange Dream or a seedling?
I am very curious because I am compiling a list of JM that can be rooted.
I didnt read this thread again, somehow I thought back to my seedling. The orange dream also got hit enough for me to get rid of it, but the seedling was a much larger plant by comparison so thats what came to mind first.
And I see you like making long lists

An Orange Dream bonsai about a foot tall (a smidge too tall to be a legit shohin):

Another that also started as an air layer from my landscape planted OD does comply with the height limit: View attachment 369004

I enjoy the orange colors of spring and fall, the limey green of hardened, shaded foliage, the yellow highlights that come with sun exposure.

Leaves do burn with the slightest breeze in full sun (green --> yellow --> crispy brown)
A.p. "katsura" (not to be confused with the katsura tree = Cercidiphyllum japonicum) is similar; some say has better spring color than OD.
i moved this summer to a place with no afternoon shade and not much wind protection, this is an upper branch off my OD mother tree:
