Fagus sylvatica progression

I found a sweet white oval from Forest Inn Pottery. The additional depth allowed me to finally get the trunk upright — it was actually leaning away from the front view.

Now to work on the layering in the growing season. I still need a bigger backdrop 😅

This is such a great before n after! Pretty cool considering the starting material.

Its never been fully wired or had a good tidy up of the structure. Is this work part of your plans, as well as fixing the rootbase? This could be very good, but can't help feeling its just been left to grow wild. Great work none the less, I keep coming back to the thread.

On April 5 I gave it 20-something guy wires to switch the styling from a semi-broom to a classic informal upright. There’s some detail wire, but I’m pretty wary of scarring the bark.

Cool, you've not thought about cutting back thicker branches in the crown back to thinner shoots and also getting some organisation in the branch structure? There's lots of overlapping primary branches and very straight branches. You can wires branches on Beech, just need to keep an eye on them, before they bite in.

Yes, pruning branches for size, aesthetics, hierarchy, etc is the plan.

One step at a time.

I don’t post my every thought here.

Cool man! Hope I didnt come across too pushy or over critical! Looking forwards to its further progress. Love me a Beech!
