English Elm pre-bonsai. Nice to see a few reds on it as they normally just go yellow.

Weeping ryusen...so glad I was young in my bonsai journey...but wise enough to not toss the stump of this ryusen maple to the compost pile.

What has your experience been like with this variety? Ryusen recently became widely available in eastern canada, and they have tiny leaves!

They are a zone 6 tree for us now from several in a zone 5 losing their material when we had two arctic temps back to back winters. Other than that...I have never had an issue with any fungal issues or even pests from this tree.

The tree above I shared...here it is from spring 2015. If you wish to put it in the ground and are below a zone 6...Pass. If you can protect in a pot. I have mine in a cold greenhouse. Used to be set to 27F. Now, is at 30F because of satsuki azaleas. But...tree is a dream, if you like weeping, it's not one your fighting to keep it so. In a pot a tree looses a zone cold hardiness.

Hey Judy, wonderful colors! Your garden seems quite lovely too

Is that a Potentilla with the pink flower?

Thank you very much, it's been a lot of work but I love nature, so it's all worth it.
No that's a satsuki, Sayonomai variety. Double lavender flowers, how could I resist?

This Seiryu was the last of my trees to change color this year. I wasn't expecting so much purply/pink. A very welcome change.

This is one of the few upright (as opposed to cascading) dissectums. I am very grateful to @jmw_bonsai and @ysrgrathe for brining this tree to my attention -- this quickly became my favourite landscape variety despite fierce competition!

I was getting color on my Coral Bark varieties when I left Atlanta area last Monday. My others were just starting to show hints. Hoping I have some when I get back Wed. We got down close to 32 I think, hoping not a very hard freeze and the leaves are still ok. I know its supposed to rain most of the week so hoping that doesn't ruin my fall color! Here is some of them two weekends ago. !st one is 'Japanese Sunrise' the other two are 'Sangu Kaku'
