Ficus Nerifolia

Here it is, getting full. This is about where I would have preferred to show it, but these really don’t take off until the temps are in the 80s. The middle-left side is getting too strong, so I’ll have to start some branch selection and ride hard on it to keep the rightward movement.

Great progression, tree looks incredible and very healthy. Do you mind sharing some of your care? Whats your Soil mix and feeding like?

Mostly I treat it like a JBP. Soil is lava/akadama/kiryu sand in about equal parts. 100% full sun all day long, and feeding heavily with Bio-Gold cakes and +/- weekly fish emulsion mixed strong. I try to keep it outside as long as temps are above 40f. Last winter it got days, if not weeks outside as long as it was warm enough. Hope that helps.

Very helpful thank you, i have had a few myself for a few years but they are really rare in the UK so trying to gain as much knowledge from where i can on them. Great Progress though and your most recent photo looks excellent

Nice-- how old do they have to be to produce figs? I have had mine for about 23 years (I estimate it was probably 7-10 years when I got it.), but no figs yet???
I’ve seen young ones with figs, so it might be more environment than age…? I have managed to keep this one outside quite a bit; on nice days in the winter and pushed the margins a little in fall and spring.
