Hey Dale,
Recently, in another thread ,you posted a picture of a Hinoki Cypress from the Carolina Bonsai Expo in one of your rustic bunjin pots. You were trying to show examples of that type/color of pot to the thread poster. Your only mention of the current tree/pot owner was "BTW, that particular pot was sold last year to a customer at the Ashville show ( who posts here) and This year it was planted with a Hinoki and in the Ashville show. Here are a couple pics."
Well, everyone, that customer is none other than me! I bought several of Dale's pots in Asheville 07,and wanted to buy more in 08; but couldn't afford to buy anything on that trip. Sorry Dale.
That hinoki was in no way refined enough to grace one of Dale's pot, and barely passable for showing. That brings me to the point of this thread. Today I spent the afternoon refining that tree, a little wiring, a lot of trimming and pinching. It looks better now, I hope Dale will be even more proud of the pot now that it "frames" a better example of bonsai. I have posted a picture of the tree after some refining. The apex still needs some wiring refining, but I put the tree away for today, and will work on that tomorrow.
