Japanese Maple #1 - update

I like a little “imperfection,” makes it more lifelike to me. Gorgeous maple, that I you for sharing the process and history Walt.

This tree is my mental image of a tree - outstanding.

Japanese Maple #1: For two weeks we were in catastrophe mode in bonsai in Germany Most trees on the shelves already.. Then ots of snow, hard freezing, high temperatures, snow and freezing again. Not good. Tonight will be the last one with some freezing. The big maple already pretends that nothing happened.

every tme I see pictures of this tree, I forget the size of this thing. Then you post this monster here and I am reminded. This must be one of the best japanese maples in Europe.
Will you be sending this tree to the EBA-augsburg next year?

None of my trees will go to Augsburg. Since I am not member of any European club I am not eligible to exhibit at EBA. And I am not keen anyway.

The size of WP trees is astounding.

Wonderful!
I can imagine, almost hear the birds in the canopy... That's the kind of impression a bonsai should provoke, no?
