I'm looking to buy a fine/soft spray copper watering wand and solder a female garden hose thread on the end, so I can put a Dramm touch n flow valve on it. I'm considering the kaneshin 125BL or the kikuwa L1826. Has anyone had both brands in copper wands and can speak to how there made. Is one better than the other? I really came here to ask if the ring that holds the mesh in place will interchange? It says the mesh diameter is 2 mm different but I wonder if that is just because one company is measuring the inside of the ring and the other is measuring the OD. I wanted the kikuwa because it is longer but they don't offer the replacement ring, if I ever need it. Each company is so similar, I wonder if they are the same. I would also really appreciate if some has one of these, if the could give me a decently precise measurement of the OD of the copper tube above the tapered section where the hose is made to go. So I can look for a female garden hose fitting to solder onto it, while it is being shipped from Japan. I greatly appreciate any info anyone can give me. Thanks.

I made two different fittings to solder on the wand, one that fits inside the wand tube and the other that fits over the wand. I was lucky enough to have access to a small metal lathe, otherwise this would've been more difficult. It might be possible to make the one that fits inside the wand with a belt sander, specially if you could rig the female hose repair end on a drill somehow (the first image below, make sure its brass, some are aluminum with a brass colored coating) 1749702315564.jpeg 20250611_223043.jpg20250611_222915.jpg

The other fitting I made out of a garden hose end cap (first image) and a brass flange bushing (second image) I found digging through a tote in the basement of a local hardware store. 1749703731282.jpeg 1749703149992.jpeg20250611_223241.jpg20250611_223201.jpg

I made two because I wasn't sure how strong either one would be and wanted options. Just in case one broke or I screwed one up on the lathe. Or if I ever wanted to make the wand shorter and couldn't reuse fitting. And I'm just weird like that. 20250611_223504.jpg20250611_223618.jpg
Anyone have thoughts on which one would be stronger. Or just looks better. 😁

In the off change someone needs measurements before purchasing something.
After cutting the tapered section off of the wand tube.
Tube measurements.
ID 0.665 inch
OD 0.710 inch
Approximately.
Mesh/screen measurements.
OD 1.714 inch
Inner lip of mesh/screen or ID of the brass ring that holds the mesh in place 1.65 inch
