my yatsubusa elm update

No...wish I did it was actually very cool. Not sure I remember either....What actually happened to it.
Cool. Just curious. I ordered a smallish Yatsubusa from Evergreen garden works. Needs to be grown out for sometime, so I thought I’d look around for inspiration.

They grow extremely vigorously with astronomical back udding...I suggest to ground grow a hear or two and they really swell out.

I see that in regards to the budding! Your pics on the one you chopped are nuts! Unfortunately I’m in a rental, so I’ll probably do an Anderson flat. I’m building my own house at the moment though, so I’ve got some plans for legitimate ground growing space.

Here it is. May layer a section off the top at some point also.

Good for you!

These are extremely vigorous trees. Back budding is actually an issue which we could argue that's a good problem to have. On mine, and due to its size, I have resorted to cleaning the tree out by pulling shoots all by hand. I use scissors only on the branches and shoots I keep. Everything else gets pulled with fingers.

When is an Mirai Yatsubusa update?
Pretty certain you have the best one I have laid eyes upon😃

I probably shouldn't say anything because this is the first I have seen of this thread, but I thought the tree was beautiful, if unkempt in the first frame. I was looking forward to seeing it transformed into a classic example of nicely formed clouds against the rugged trunk. The pictures immediately cycled through the descent into the Hell of 'Tatorism and I guess death. Boo Hiss This is an excellent example of why I use Bayer Rose 3-in-1 at the drop of a hat. Any time Mother Nature and a tree clash, the Mother wins. Chemicals are the great equalizer and systemics are the silver bullet in this form, not the Gattling-Gun of old.

I am hoping at some point in the fall Curtis. I am extending some branch lines up top to arch over the entire canopy much like very old deciduous trees tend to do. The branches down below become shorter. So going away on this one from the classic pyramidal structure.
