I had two very small Issai Nishiki's. One is alive but pretty weak and the other died. They are known to be slow growers and difficult to keep alive so very rare to find. They propagated pretty easily so i have a couple of small cuttings. Hopefully I can get one to take off for propagation purposes. They are also extremely brittle. Very easy to break a branch. They basically cork up within the same year. Very odd cultivar. I have never seen one of any size. I speculate the graft can't take the corking and hoping the cuttings are not as week. Below is a picture from a Google search.Haha mines from there as well. Maybe the sunlight/location here wasn't optimal.
Let me know if you manage to acquire Issai Nishiki Momiji. Starts barking up very young, fairly rare due to its slow growth habit.
