What a tough tree, this summer there was a fire that burnt the entire mountain it stands on and a lot of the lower branches were burnt but I believe it will survive.

Sequoias are so tough they actually REQUIRE fire in order to reproduce. Their cones won't open without fire.

The fire requirement is a form of serotiny:

I was a researcher on a project concerned with serotinous jack pine and pitch pine on Cadillac Mountain at Acadia National Park on systems that had not seen fire since 1947. They will reproduce without fire, but fire really kicks up regen success considerably.
