The Accent (Companion) Plant Thread

Yamadori Accents?......
One advantage of Yamadori collecting is the accents one finds ........so while the wild ones go into their second year of recovery I removed a few natives and potted them into what I had

View attachment 99944 View attachment 99945 Two years ago I was going to give some my coworkers chicks and hens in pots as Christmas gifts. They ended up getting wine and I kept the chicks for myself. I've gotten rid of some but here is the last of them. Don't know anything about accents and not sure if this counts but I think they look cool when they start growing over the side and hanging. Some sort of Japanese pot, can't recall the maker at the moment.

Follow up. Looks like this now, lol. Lochness monster thing going on

Great idea to use thyme as an accent plant. I prefer the simple, rectangular stand: it doesn't steal the show, one can focus on the pot and the plants, the stand just helps give some perspective.

Good job!

image.jpeg This local plant is found along the coastal shorelines of the PNW, it's "Broadleaf Stonecrop" (Sedum Spathulifolium), all it needs to flourish are a few straggly roots in shallow soil pocket. The Oyster shell is from the same beach the sedum came from.

View attachment 110681 Just flowering, "Campanula rotundifolia", common harebell, bluebell bellflower, commonly found within the pacific northwest coastal ecosystems. Still in the beach sand it was growing in.....why change it? Different pot ......definitely.
Keeps on flowering
