The only thing keeping you from profiting off these trees is your little Wolf Watcher ain't heavy enough to put much leverage on the handle side of the shovel.

I know of at least 2 trees you have in the woods that been waiting for years.
That means there's probly more like 100.

With your current collected stuff at an average of $1k...
And your ability to scout while on work breaks keeping those costs minimal....

I would almost invest in a GPS with a high capacity to mark locations accurately, and send your letter for an updated digging permit with a $100 check, maybe a bag of shrooms....get ahead of that...

Bonsai awakens my Artistic senses...I grow Bonsai to appease these Artistic senses...I especially favor growing-building Penjing Bonsai because it affords me almost instant Gratification...I generally use Pre-Bonsai Trees because they are generally True Bonsai Culture Stock...I personally believe Bonsai is a World onto itself and can only be appreciated when it Stimulates an individuals Visual Senses...

I often find myself drawn to multi trunk trees. The best of them covey the drama of an informal upright with the social feeling of a forest planting.

I keep coming back to this image posted by @MACH5 a couple years ago. I see something to strive for in the harmony and balance achieved with material of humble beginnings.

Most of my trees are single trunk pre bonsai types of various quality levels.
This is one of the better ones.

I have a few seedling in pots that are slated for development as multi trunks, but I'm not sure how to proceed. I think that other styles lend themselves better to making it up as you go. I may have to sit down with a pencil and start sketching these things out.

I also wanted to share this maple.
This thing just blows my mind.

I absolutely agree with your observation about multiple trunks. I have a couple of rhododendrons and an azalea in development, with multiple trunks happening.
I think the picture of your tree looks really interesting, with lots of potential.
