I had issues with a Larch I purchased, so I thought I would take along my daughter, and have a look around.
"Dad, I think I want to try bonsai as well" she says. So I said OK, go look and see if you can find a little tree you like. She showed me several, and I told her why I thought they wouldn't work. She was happy enough, and settled on a juniperus sabina.

I wasnt looking fo anything other than maybe a pine, but while helping her look, stumbled across this pine that had a very nice nebari for its size. It was cheep, so I carried it around with her for a while.

Ended up bringing it home. Because of the needle cast my larch had, I got this for free!! Oh well!
It is in need of a repot though, will get to that when the time is right.

Prickly things. Will do great where you live.
You want to wait till early spring. Just as the buds start to swell to repot it.
