I've actually thinned out that shimpaku foliage and begun refining the deadwood a bit more this season, but won't post again 'til next year after a repot to offer a slightly better front. If you're asking about the field grown Trident, it's there in the gallery. If you're asking about he huge-based field grown Japanese maple, it's not far enough along yet to post in the gallery - still too much merely a "work-in-progress," and probably better posted without its foliage anyway.
Hi Dwight. Thanks for the kind words. I'm still strongly influenced by the Chinese, but I've been quite influenced by Dan's approach as well, and the two actually have a surprising amount in common. The book, BTW, is largely done, and in early publishing negotiations. Because of a few factors that are more complicated than I want to go into here, however, it will probably not come out for another year or so. Hope you're doing well after your recent travail.
