i notice many of you draw lines on photos-showing where to make chops, where you want future branches etc...

how do you do that?
i'm not the most computer savvy person

I use a free photo editor in the phone.

I reckon you can right click, and "open image with", paint, or the like.

Happy Maddening!

If you use a PC(can't speak for apple products) just open your picture and right click on it, there should be a menu option called "open with", hover over that and one of the choices should be "paint" and choose that.
Then you are free to experiment with all the drawing you need.

Or you can just open Paint and open the file from there.

I am on a Mac. I use photoshop to draw on photos and do virtuals.

thanks for telling me about paint-couldn't get it to work as you described.but my son showed me a way of doing it-your way does sound easier though

I work with photoshop on a Mac for a living, so I never use it for tree stuff - it would make my relaxing hobby seem like work ;)
I just use my iPad and a free doodling app. It's more like fingerpainting and keeps me from taking it too seriously.

A low tech way.

Take good tracing paper, rest on laptop's screen and with a 9b pencil trace the image.
You can then erase or correct to your hearts content.
Replace into a flatbed scanner to scan and send the image if you need to.
Good Day
