Is the last tree posted a hedge maple?
I remember seeing one Wee Tree was offering up as a bare root tree a couple of years back, that resembled it.
Love the movement of it and the non-conventional trunk!

This is a very cool tree, it kinda reminds me of the Lantana I opened up with. What do the flowers look like.
I would like to see this a shohin in a nice pot. Do the leaves reduce?

This is something very new to me, and there's not much info on for bonsai training. Fun part is, I get to find stuff out about Mahonia for myself.
These appear to have some leaf reduction, but I'm not sure if it's enough for a shohin. Perhaps, if I keep it limited to having baby leaves, but the problem with that is that flower and fruit production may be inhibited.

The flower are beautiful. They look like this.

After that they make fruit.

I'm pretty sure thats a vine maple-at least it looks like one but I'm not 100%

Yes, sorry: the seven trees I posted are Sugar maple, Spanish lavender, Live oak, Notofagus, honeysuckle, Butterfly bush and Vine maple.

A couple of Hackberries that need haircuts! But I wait till nearing the end of winter, as these get some dieback on twigs. These are both collected trees.

A hawthorn that I've been working for far too long for it to still look like this! But it was slow to recover from collecting, and I just got it in a pot last year.

And a tree that I have just acquired that Don Blackmond dug a couple years ago, this is an enormous crabapple. Going to be a long term fun project. The left trunk is actually root connected. I'll probably keep and use all the trunks. Sergio made me a great sketch for development idea, I'd only planned on keeping the main and right, but I like his idea for keeping all 3.

Thanks. It is a lovely and very realistic bald cypress. A little Dremel work on those roots wouldn't hurt.
