Just added this amazing deciduous juniper to the collection too; check out that gorgeous fall color!

Doesn't warrant its own thread yet, but I thought it might fit in on this one ;)
When should I carve it?
I got a jack pine in that nice fall color. I'm waiting for the needles to drop before I wire it.
For yours I would let it regain a little strength before ripping into it with power tools. It's a powerful image and I wouldn't want to see you kill it by overworking it.
Nice juniper!

Time to add blowtorch to the tags...

Skip carving...it is not too necessary....
Can we just skip to the blowtorch part?

I think if you blacken it just a little...
It will give you a better impression of age.

It would look like a tree after a wildfire. Which is a natural look...they say here that ashes are great for your soil.
Why do I hear Beavis saying "fire is cool"?

@ColinFraser have you got an update on these lovely bonsai?
I was thinking, maybe you could glue err graft some of the bronze juniper masterpiece to the other one. You know, for maximal kaboom factor.
