I think many of us can make a similar statement. I have been to workshops, symposiums, club meetings, National Exhibitions...have talked to many who have as much bonsai experience as you do, have questioned many of them, challenged some of them when they make comments that I disagree with - and I have never been treated the way I have on this forum. You've made some pretty nasty comments to me (and others) over the years. Similarly with Sawgrass, I've lost count of how many times he's called various members (including myself) "idiots" and worse simply because someone disagreed with or questioned something he wrote.

So it becomes a vicious cycle. You get tired/pissed because people are challenging you (as if you could never be wrong or misinformed), take it out on others, then they respond in kind and everything escalates. And here we are.

I certainly do understand how it can become tiresome and lead to people leaving the forums.

I started packing up my things to go, and I guess the

A new identity and name, using the letters of my own personal
Name... I mean, how touching is that! It's awesome !!!
Not sure if they thought it through though, cause, when you

This is creepy. Sorry that you're leaving. I honestly appreciate your work and contribution. You can be unpleasant sometimes, but whatever. Easy peasy to just ignore such things. Ain't nobody perfect. Hope you return.

The ignore function is an amazing thing.

This comment is not directed at any one person, but to Internet forums in general. If you participate in a forum, it means you are SEEKING OUT commentary. You have to assume some of the commentary will be supportive, and at least SOME of it will be critical. If you are not prepared to view critical commentary, you will never be happy on an Internet forum.

There is no law that you need to read the critical commentary, and certainly no law that you need to respond. I get plenty of critical commentary, and learn from some, argue with others, and ignore some. But I never let it ruin my day.

If some people like to blog, great. If some people like to blog, and then come here and chat, great. But to come here and argue about who has more trees, or who is the "better" bonsai designer, or who has been involved in bonsai for the longest time is a rather hollow argument, don't you think? I always believe that if I have to TELL someone how good I am, I'm probably not.
