This is a pot my my sister made at summer camp in 1977. It is 5 " tall. My mother was going to get rid of it so I brought it home and drilled a hole in the bottom and presto!:)

A flowering cherry I'm rebuilding.
Only had 3 straight branches and was very weak amd potbound. Repotted and regained strenght over the last year so now I hard pruned and expect some backbuds and new shoots to give it some movement. Still unsure on the tree's style.. its a white canvas

Today I went to a shohin buttonwood workshop taught by Hiram Macias and Toby Diaz, great guys. They brought good material for us and helped everyone through the process answering any and all questions. I had a good time and stuck around after pretty much everyone left and got to watch them work on the trees that were left over and realized how little I really did with my material. I think it’s a good start but it was pretty clear from the beginning where the tree wanted to go, the last trees they styled looked completely different and we’re pretty much bare bones when they got done with them. It made me want to start over, I wanted a more challenging tree just to try and push myself harder. Next time, I guess. I’m still happy with my tree though.

My porcelain berry was unfortunately defoliated by a crummy auto watering system as well as the extreme heat and drought north Georgia has been experiencing over the last six weeks. No rain in sight and we are going to have another four or five days in the mid 90s this week… This little one doesn’t care😎
