Back of the tree... and it's future new angle that will be changed when repotting
into a smaller pot.

And the last one for today... (I do have more I can photograph) One of my larger
Bougies, that has had the main branches wire earlier this year, and for the next year,
possibly two, will be left to grow to really thicken up. And obviously the pot is all wrong.

I've been wanting to get rid of mine but you're making me think twice. Did this come from Mary? It's a keeper for sure! Would a darker pot bring out the deadwood even more?
I agree about the pot color. For me this is way to masculine of a tree for
this shape of pot and color that it is currently in. Problem is when you start
getting bigger size material, you sometimes start getting limited to what is
available when it comes to pots.

For the moment... I am considering the pot that I had my other B-wood in
that died. The pot in post #21 of this thread. Not sure if it will fit at first, so
I might end up using a very large mica pot I have for the moment. Also, I will
need to consider the new angle I am hoping... fingers crossed, the tree's roots
will allow me to do.

I did not get this from Mary, I know her very well and she does have some very
awesome material... I actually got this from Martha Goff, who is downsizing larger
trees in favor of smaller ones. And she was nice enough to deliver !!!

If you bring that side up as high as you show in the photo will that side of the tree die? (With the roots being so fine and the species being so temperamental to change) If I PM you a photo of my little B-Wood twig maybe you can give me some ideas on what to do with it? Awesome work on your trees!

From what I can tell... it actually seems that the remaining live vein is of the left hand
side of the tree... Which will be the lower side at the new angle. I will in the next month
do a repot, and at that time will obviously know for sure. This is why I haven't bothered
yet adjusting any branches for the new angle.

Thank you for the compliment, and sure would be happy to give advice !

Good thread and some pretty nice trees, thanks for posting.

Gosh, what an aggressive first post. Is bonsai just a competition to you? Thread seems like a way to satisfy your own ego more than anything else. You can just ignore peoples advice, but a forum is just that, a forum. People will post regardless of how crotchety or experienced you are. It's obvious you can make your own decisions in bonsai, great trees.

BINGO !!!!
You my friend are one smart man ! And deserve a cookie.
Perhaps, I should start more threads just to satisfy my own Ego.
Like a thread about designing trees, or better yet how
About that thread on "V" notching a branch, we had talked
About earlier on in this thread, or even extending that first very
Aggressive post you where talking about, and adding follow up
Photos to the B-wood that was carved, wired, bent, even though
It can't be done.

I better watch it though... or my Ego might get away from me, and
I might post more threads on this forum. You know... threads
That might be of use to someone trying to learn ???

I started this thread, and bothered to come back here and take shit
From folks, because I thought that some here might like and find useful
What I might be able to offer them, especially seeing since I have actually
Done these things, as evident by my ego and it suggesting I post all these
Ridiculous photos of my trees and the work that has been done... I also,
thought it might be refreshing, seeing That most here who are giving advice
haven't actually done the work, but instead are just passing along what they
have only heard should be done.

But. I can leave just as fast as I came... makes no difference to me...

Grabbing some popcorn

Me too !!! Hey pass some of that popcorn, because it
Is only going to get better ! Especially seeing you are one
Of the individuals that my opening statement best suits !!!
Don't know a clue about bonsai, but sure willing to run your
Mouth.
Hey, How,'s that Popcorn ?

Got any soda ???
Hey, that reminds me... tomorrow I need to get
Some photos of the juniper that I hedged cut...
You remember, right ??? You know the one you accused
Me of being lazy for doing... Well, you will be happy to
Know, that not only am I not taking your shit, but what I did
Worked!!! Perhaps next time you show up you should bring
Some Ding Dongs as well.

Come on Swampass don't be so predictable and go off the deep end this early in the thread. Nowhere did I call you lazy and if you inferred that from the statement I made about not minding spending time with trees even if there are quicker methods, that's on you. No popcorn or ding dongs for you, I don't want to interrupt the enlightenment you are providing to all of us. Please continue.

Thanks, I will...
Perhaps even you might learn something...

Umm... yeah.
Dude, I just caught a glimpse of your procumbens
Thread... I think the first bit of enlightenment I might
Add, would be that if I just spent the last 10 yrs doing
Bonsai and that was the best I could come up with, I
Would keep as low of a profile as possible and try to
Learn from whomever was willing to offer up even the
Slightest bit of advice.
Sure you don't want to share your popcorn ?

Come on Swampass you are reaching now, searching for some way to attack me. You still get no popcorn. Ok maybe a burnt kernel for effort.

10 years in bonsai? No. You again misinterpreted a statement that because I bought a mallsai juniper 10 years ago I had been doing bonsai ten years. Incorrect. And the thing is I know I'm far from good at bonsai, that I'm not highly skilled or even very knowledgeable, which is why I'm here at bnut. So if you believe you are telling me something i don't know, you are wrong again.

Insulting my procumbens is insulting other members of this board who helped me with it, members with more knowledge and ability than you, members with truly fantastic trees, members who don't need to tell everyone how good they are because it's obvious.

You are so funny... continue on my friend!
When I started this thread I stated we are not going to talk the talk, but
Instead walk the walk... is it just me, or is there some sort of irony
To you , who are now claiming to know nothing of bonsai,
discussing my knowledge of Bonsai and with authority !

Side note, it does not seem they helped you very much. Perhaps
In the future, you should tell them not too!
On second thought, if you want, I could do it for you ???

Thank you for sharing the progress of your trees in detail. I don't have a bwood but perhaps I should.
Lovely trees.

And everyone please play nice.
Don't b a hater all ur life.
I actually enjoy learning from others experience and efforts.

But. I can leave just as fast as I came... makes no difference to me...

Please do, I'm sure you can find the door.

Hahaha sawgrass you need a hobby, besides beating up on people on the internet. Oh, well maybe 2 hobbies then... bonsai/golf? Have you ever consider anger management therapy? I'm not making a joke with that one, it could be seriously helpful to you.

You prattle on about your expertise and trees like a petulant child. And look down your nose at anyone in your way, like ny here. I don't give 2 s**ts what your trees look like. Because I have always valued humility over vanity, particularly when it comes to people earning my respect. You could be the greatest bonsai master there is, but you're still an amateur human being. Congrats.
