Yes there is one drainage hole at the bottom. Do you prefer a certain pot over others? Why or why not? Is it the same premise with Beta Fish (Will she grow bigger/faster in a larger pot?)

Would some shrink wrap work over the soil?

Pots need a drainage hole to prevent the soil from going anaerobic. You need air to move through the soil.

Yes, trees will grow bigger in bigger pots, but with that, you have to be careful about too much soil and pot for too small a tree. Lots to learn. Stick with basic advice so far.
