Killer trunk! I had one of these almost as big a while back. It was a very old wild one collected in a cow pasture in Central Va. growing 35 feet up the support wire of a telephone pole. Had a nice twisty substantial trunk.
I finally got rid of it because it grew...and GREW...and GREW. It was about as aggressive as wisteria and took over the whole yard before June every spring. I was constantly fighting those catclaw thorns every time I watered or went out into the yard. The wood was also extremely prone to rot, just like wisteria. Took me about five years to get sick of the constant hacking back of the runners and the accompanying blood loss.
I miss it every now and then, though.
