What happens when a big tree hits a bigger tree...

You can't put them up on it...then stain later? That is what I did...but, it's your bench. I am sure it's something you've most likely done before. My husband's grandfather and father were painters. So...he's a stickler for rules...and his grandfather swore it wasn't done. So...there he follows those rules.
I could but I want to keep the benches as clean as possible before staining/sealing and the potted trees with periodic watering would muck things up. Invisible fence may be out in the next week to wire the perimeter of the garden, which will protect most of the trees and give more time for the wood to dry... fingers crossed

The weather was spectacular this weekend, so Groot and I decided to spend some time outside... we and the garden are ready for spring?. ( The white flags denotes an extension of our invisible fence system... No more worries about tea bags becoming dog snacks?)

Really nice. You must get a workout taking care of the trees on that hill, I'd probably break a leg! That dog cracks me up every time I see him. :). His expression just says "I am Groot"

invisible fence system
I put one in when I got Rupert.
Apparently they don't work for German Shepherds. He figured out if he ran fast enough he only got shocked for a split second. The flags pointed out what to jump over. We called the manufacturer and got a collar with more voltage. It didn't stop him either. He just took the shock. The fence worked,I know because I tried it out. Put my thumb between the electrodes on the collar and got within range. It hurt up to my shoulder.
I talked to a state police k9 officer and said those don't work for German Shepherd Dogs and the Malinois. He said they're too smart and will take some pain. I had to train him to stay within the boundaries of our property. I just let him out and he patrols the perimeter.
Groot doesnt eat trees does he? Rupert gave up on bonsai after his elm died.

I'm pretty sure Groot came already trained to the system. If he get's corrected by the collar- it beeps and is set on the lowest static electrical shock level- he runs back to the back door and pouts there until someone let him in. He didn't leave the deck for a week after the extension modifications were made. He loves solid ferts so this spring will be a real test for him, but I bet it works. The pointer is another story. Much like Rupert, he just runs through it, but he clearly doesn't like it and tends to stay on the right side of the fence.

Dave, where did you get the metal post sleeves? I have termites here and would be helpful to have the posts of the ground like that.
