Almost forgot to bring the bougainvillea and rabbit foots fern in last night...dipped into the mid to low 40's here last night. Up to 72 supposedly today...doesn't feel like it though.

What did that do...forced me to take the shop vac to the greenhouse. Been meaning to...but got my hands into another project that kept me from it. Moved things around so my husband can put up the grow light and set up the heat mats for when spring arrives early and we repot and then Mother Nature laughs and the temps plummets. Didn't bomb anything...only small spiders...nothing resembling a recluse. But moved things about...so the thuja planting goes on another bench...and my deciduous trees go in under the pergola. Where the light will hang from.

It's been cooler than usual here too just the last 2 days. Tons of rain and in low 70s. From the last few weeks in the high 90s and 100's it's a big dip.

I love it and the trees do too.

Can't wait to move outta FL.

The central AC hasn't stopped running for more then 2-3 hours since early June... likely will be that way into mid September. It did fall below 70F for a minute the other morning, though!

Winter always catches me off guard here. Thanks for the reminder. Still in the 80's during the day, but down to 40's at night ( that's for you Americans). Not too long and the tropical will come in and the Harry's will be dug down or put in the garage. Lots of work and the trees all hate it.

My power bill for June was $420.00 and the power bill for July was $461.00. August will be the same. It takes alot of money to live in central California in the summer.

Some refreshment here at last!
Between 33 to 28C max and 19 to 21C min for the last few days.
Some of my trees started a new growth during the last weeks!

We got frost last night.
Anyone else.
It's 41 degrees right now.
Winter comes on quick here.
This is about the nicest season for trees around here. We're in the monsoon - good humidity and temps in the high 70's to low 80's. I'm going collecting this weekend! Man, you have a short growing season. Probably the best argument in favor of the high-dose inorganic fertilizer regimen you use.

Still monsoon season I was just out there last month and the weather was absolutely amazing , went to white sands and some mountains next to some artillery ranges , loved it out there !

Came back home to the miserable humidity we have here

That's what shocked me when I moved down here. In the summer my central air doesn't turn off at all the entire day. If we are lucky, it'll shut off for an hour around 3am......but on 23 hours all of july and august.

I get tired of central air after a while though, start missing fresh crispy air of fall.

Sounds like mine in winter. It takes a lot of power to heat a house in below zero weather.
